« Tue Aug 15, 2017 4:44 pm »   Two of the other "enemy" groups are also lead by Curs, one in particular, "Barker Ashpaws," has a bad history with Rukey [as Rukey is heavily in debt to him]...and he looks a punk rock dog... with a mohawk... and his team's theme music is inspired by metal/rock...in a fantasy setting (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LMZYnOml54) How has this gone under the radar?
« Tue Aug 15, 2017 4:38 pm »   And in an early conversation he can ask you whether you think he should shave it or not, because he's worried it makes him look "unscrupulous," not kidding: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBUJzr_IHUk) [You still give him hope if you tell him to shave it, he just wanted your opinion, and he he sticks to that look for the rest of the game] You can also troll him a bit using the bell in your wagon-base in an easter egg, though he does get the last laugh: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apjgHRVLvXE
« Tue Aug 15, 2017 4:31 pm »   While I know it's probably been lost in the sea of news buzz for the recent Sonic game, I'm surprised there hasn't much interest for Pyre (made by the people who made Bastion and Transistor). It's pretty unique on it's own, with a good range of fantasy races, but in particular one of your first party members (and thus of the prominent figures in the game) is an anthro dog by the name of Rukey Greentail. Notable not only for being one of the speediest gameplay-wise and a deadpan snarker, but also because he's a dog (or "Cur") with a rather dapper mustache.

« Fri Aug 04, 2017 1:09 pm »   Also I may just have had a memory lapse but have I mentioned a book called "Dust City" before? (https://books.google.ca/books?id=rv-vAUwfXcAC) If not, it might be worth look, particularly if your a fan of things like the Fable series (only more from an actual anthro-wolf/"animalian" perspective) or urban fantasy in general with a bit of noir/mystery, dystopic or at least grim undertones, and YA-ish bits, if you can look past that, peppered in for flavour. If I had already, pardon the rambling.
« Fri Aug 04, 2017 12:55 pm »   And sheepishly I will admit I have seen some recent Babar productions by chance that did actually go for some worldbuilding and lore (even species lore/culture) [for a young kids show] as well as attempting an actual plot arc (or at least connecting a couple episodes' plot threads into a singular season finale). So really it's all in the execution rather than just the summary, we'll only know for certain when certifable work is released beyond the meagre bits we have so far. So it's still worth keeping an eye on until that point.
« Fri Aug 04, 2017 12:47 pm »   Also there's just the sad fact that a more "relatable element to kids such as 'our heroes go to school'" (or at least the popular modern trope of the "magic-school" [see Harry Potter and so forth]) would seem more "agreeable" in the minds of current day kids network execs as opposed to just "ongoing non-linear" adventures roaming the countryside (those do seem to be rare these days). Sadly sometimes artistic vision or scope has to be sacrificed to get the project financed and actually hit the ground running; the goal is to get this on TV (Netflix perhaps?) after all. I wouldn't compare it to Babar by any stretch.
