« Wed Aug 01, 2018 3:29 am »   In regards to actual deleted characters, the reason they are merely removed from circulation and not completely erased is so that if a player accidentally deletes a character they meant to keep, this character can be manually recovered by us and put back in the player's character list.
« Wed Aug 01, 2018 3:25 am »   The issue mentioned below, the missing character issue, is different from this setup as what happens is the character is still in the player's character list, taking up that slot, which is why a new character can't replace it. The character is still there, they are not deleted, but, the player cannot see or access it.
« Wed Aug 01, 2018 3:22 am »   In a player's account, a deleted character gets removed from circulation. They technically still exist, but, are no longer taking up 'space' in the player's character list. So, in this way, yes, the name might still remain unavailable. However... some players have managed to recreate a character after deletion. This is a gray area and I'm not 100% sure on this.
« Wed Aug 01, 2018 3:20 am »   Deleted characters are similar but different.
« Wed Aug 01, 2018 2:56 am »   Thought as such. Just to be clear a "deleted character" still exists in the server logs so, for example, if I create the Mage character "Gandalf Greytail," then delete said character, I cannot then reuse that name for a different character since it still "exists." Is that accurate?
« Wed Aug 01, 2018 2:24 am »   So, if you do join us in Discord, don't be afraid to ask about whatever if you need help or such.
« Wed Aug 01, 2018 2:23 am »   Regarding 'activity'....that's relative. Yes, most of the 'activity' is in Discord. As for actually being 'active' that's a different thing. There are times when things are pretty quiet and might even appear dead. (it's not, but, might seem that way at times)
« Wed Aug 01, 2018 2:21 am »   Yeah, here's the thing about the character thing. The issue comes down to the character still being in the player's account, but, for some reason not being visible to the player. The server knows it exists, but, the player can't see it. That was the whole core issue of that problem.
« Wed Aug 01, 2018 2:14 am »   Also helpful to know about the discord. Don't know when I'll get into it, but if that's where the majority of activity is (last I checked there was 51 people at one point), I'll likely be there eventually.
