Yeah, 'cause they totally set up there a while back in expectation of eventually having to kowtow to a specific distributer in that region.

Or, y'know, Hong Kong that puts them in the region they focus on for everything else they run. And isn't in Japan.

Doormattitude may still be in play, though.

My, that's a really, really unfortunate word association, and hopefully not prophetic.

Now I'm imagining Earth Eternal with all sorts of cosmetic upgrades, placed on a street corner and looking for Johns.
Heh, it's called a "Credit Shop". Also doubles as a
pusher
dealer.

Sankando is based in Japan. Turnout Ventures is based in Hong Kong. Turnout handles games for the Asia-Pacific region, which Japan is a part of. Since Turnout specializes in this, they have a better grasp on various Asian markets, which could be why Sankando's Japanese release will come before any English release. Sankando is not taking "control," they are a publisher. It's just that Turnout is probably better equipped to work with them right off the bat.

Eh, it's part of China, but acts like a separate entity.

On topic: I was glad to see Matt still alive and well. I wish I had more time to talk, but I was meeting friends for dinner and had to run.

Haha, awesome Sorrow! Thanks for the laugh. I truly do have a lot of respect for Matt though, I respect his vision and dream for Earth Eternal and for choosing an MMO as the medium or canvas in which to tell such an immersive story. A true creative person. I hope we see a lot more of his participation in the forums as it would be great to talk about his thoughts on the MMO industry and it's direction or other projects . . . I don't think he's a pimp though, or has that been updated to LinkedIn yet?

Hopefully they're enjoying their stay in HK. Maybe Piggypops is gonna get one of those all-in-one handheld game consoles you find over there...

why is it when devs don't show up for a while, you all assume they met a tragic demise?
